Between the Lines by David Hill
Between the Lines by David Hill. Pub. Gilt Edge Publishing, 2006.
One of over 30 titles in the GOFORIT series that are written for reluctant readers but are high interest and low vocabulary.
The writers are all reputable New Zealand authors and the scenarios are our country, our culture and this makes them a very valuable resource for any school library.
While they are aimed at High School students, year 7/8 students will find them cool as well.
The art work in them, and there is art work on every page, is appropriate and heightens the written text.
This one by David Hill is about three boys who write song for their own band. When a foxy chick joins the band one of the guys develops a crush on her and starts to change the theme of the songs into love songs, the other guys get into him big time and there is great humour in the banter.
