Theodore Bone: The Abduction by John Grisham

Theodore Bone: The Abduction by John Grisham. Pub. Hodder & Stoughton, 2011.

Sometime adult writer John Grisham tries his hand at a mystery novel for High School students with his second book about 13 year old Theodore Bone. Theodore’s parents are lawyers(surprise surprise) and Theodore is steeped in legal workings and processes.(American law that is).

A school friend of Theo’s, April, goes missing, suspected of being abducted and/or murdered. April is from a dysfunctional family and Theo goes on the hunt for her. A few red herrings and a few laughs later we find out what has happened to April.

An Ok novel, some funny moments, and some law but worth a read if you like John Grisham novels, but I think he should have stayed with adult writing.
