A Book is a Book by Jenny Bornholdt, Illus. Sarah Wilkins
How true the title is even in this electronic world we live in. To me it is more important than it ever was because it is solitiude from all the unwanted noise that surrounds us.
the first page puts the book in perspective – there is a book for everyone even the little rabbit who must have been sorely tempted by the carrot in front of him/her. The text says “A book is to read”.
As we go through this 37 page beauty the poetic text describes the various attractions of a book none better than “a story belongs wherever a story belongs”. The illustrations are always appropriate and add something that the written text does not say.
Ideal for the home and the school library and remember “you can read in the bath but you mustn’t drop your book”
Lovely presentation for everyone.
