whose beakWhose Beak is This? by Gillian Candler Illus. Fraser Williamson. Pub Potton & Burton, 2015.

What is the difference between a beak and a bill? What are beaks made off and what do birds use their beaks for? All these questions are asked and answered in this junior science work on birds and their beaks/bills.

The birds looked at are all New Zealand native birds or birds that inhabit the new Zealand land, rivers and sea environments.

The written text is simple and informative and all the birds are given rheir common and Maori names.

Fraser Williamson’s illustrations are are outstanding. A close up of the whole bird doing what they do with their beaks and then a big close up of the bird using it’s beak.

Great science and art work for primary and intermediate students.
