NZ Children and YA Book Awards 2016

June 9, 2016

This years finalists have been announced and I have to admit there are a few surprises but I shall not criticise until I have read all the finalists. I will say I find it difficult to believe that there was no place for Joy Cowley’s Road to Ratenburg and the placement of Barney Kettle in Junior fiction. Perhaps My Grandpa is a Dinosaur by Richard Fairgray and Terry Jones was too late for entry, if not it is another alarming miss. I was delighted for Kaeli Baker’s Sylvie the Second. Nonetheless they are out there now and I look forward to reviewing them all.
