Paraweta by Stephanie Blake. Translated by Karena Kelly.

August 20, 2018

paraweta2Paraweta by Stephanie Blake translated by Karena Kelly. Pub. 2018.

This is the Maori translation of a superb and funny picture book about an independent little rabbit called Simon who can only say one thing Paraweta or Poo Bum.

I am delighted that it has been translated into Maori to allow young and old readers of Maori to enjoy the experience of this book. The illustrations and story are identical to the original French book and will hopefully strike a chord with Maori language readers.

My original review of this book under the title Poo Bum is also on this blog.

The only problem that author had with this title was finding a suitable translation of the words Poo Bum. I hope it is a good one.

Read and enjoy.
