Peter Millett and Paul Beavis are a couple of wags who have taken the old rhyme of the old lady who swallowed a fly and given it a New Zealand setting.

The odd farmer is still a woman and “I dunno why she swallowed a fly It’s such weird Kai”

The Odd farmer sits on a couch along with the weta, the gecko, the kune pig, the collie,, the cow and the horse who are going to follow the fly into her stomach. Each creature is seen through a hole in the page.

The odd farmer naturally gets bigger and bigger until the couch collapses “she’s stuffed of course”.

Great fun, good read aloud with illustrations that are superb.
